The new company restaurant
The question
After two years of working from home, the office has gradually become the workplace again. It is important that colleagues can enjoy a pleasant meal together. Alfa Laval requested that the canteen be transformed into a cozy restaurant that also serves as a meeting place. It also had to have the right atmosphere to welcome customers and allow them to relax during a well-deserved break from work!
The design
The cafeteria previously had a simple appearance and lacked the necessary atmosphere. The new look was intended to transform the company restaurant into a meeting place. To achieve the desired look, we decided to incorporate the corporate identity. Alfa Laval had a corporate identity based on 'Nordic Base', a Scandinavian interior design style. We translated this into a modern Scandinavian interior, giving it a contemporary feel. The central colors of the corporate identity were also used, and a design was created that perfectly suits the company. This gave the space much more atmosphere, in contrast to spaces where white is often used as the central color. In other words, the perfect place where everyone feels at home.
Acoustics
The company restaurant is a large space. Good acoustics are important here to minimize noise nuisance as much as possible. We wanted to combine this as efficiently as possible with the use of office furniture. For this reason, we opted for acoustic mood lighting. What is this? Designer lamps with a modern and chic look that also provide the necessary sound insulation. The perfect solution for a restaurant or canteen!
The result
Employees indicated that they wanted to have lunch downstairs again instead of at their desks. We saw this as a huge compliment, because it perfectly met Alfa Laval's request. A place where colleagues enjoy coming and can relax together.
