Logistical connectivity at Portbase
Portbase is a non-profit organization dedicated to the logistics sector in the ports of Rotterdam. They are establishing a close-knit community with the aim of creating a single point of contact and making the logistics chains as attractive as possible. In doing so, they connect all parties involved in the logistics chains.
The question: a creative space for brainstorming sessions
Portbase bases all its activities on a collective mindset: collaborating, coming together, and generating new ideas together. These new ideas also require a space where creativity is stimulated.
Our account manager, Martin Kramer, was asked during a visit to Portbase whether we could create a brainstorming room. Portbase requested an out-of-the-box design and gave us complete freedom for this project. The only condition was that the company's branding colors had to be reflected in the design. In short, a project that also greatly stimulates us to think creatively!
Inventory and design
Before we start working on a project, we first listen to the customer's wishes. The focus here is on the purpose and function of the space. These were identified during the initial meeting.
A creative playground
Portbase was looking for a unique and playful design. Think of the perfect Pinterest image with beanbags, a large swing bench, whiteboard, and bulletin board walls. In short, not the classic space where you simply sit down at a table. But a creative playground!
The challenge was to find the right balance between the current office layout and creating a completely new look. Our interior consultant Faye was more than happy to take on this challenge. Based on the client's wishes, Faye created a unique 3D design. This gave Portbase a clear visual image of their future creative base.
Additional requests: phone booths and styling
In addition to tackling the brainstorming room, there was also a need to restyle the office. The goal? To create a warm and homely atmosphere, so that employees would want to come to the office again. Finally, they wanted to equip the office with phone booths. These are indispensable in today's offices for working or making phone calls without being disturbed!
The delivery and the result
The delivery was spread over several days, so there was time to install everything carefully. We started with the inbox, the carpet, and the walls. Then the furniture could be put in place. We were present during the delivery to supervise everything. This takes the pressure off the customer and allows us to answer questions on site.
An inspiring ideas factory
A beautiful, colorful, and inspiring result. As requested by Portbase, the brainstorming room does not have a conventional look. It features plenty of creative and playful elements with a minimalist design. This allows everyone to enter the brainstorming sessions with a fresh mindset.
The office has a homely atmosphere. A simple but effective step was taken by placing flowers and a cabinet full of interior accessories! The corporate colors were also taken into account for each element, resulting in a truly creative home base for Portbase. Everything forms a whole and combines perfectly with the old office design.
The entire project took three months to complete, from design to delivery. Portbase was very satisfied with the overall result and looked forward to further decorating the office in the future.
